OK, I must admit that I am more than biased. I’ve been working to encourage and support British companies to export to Poland since 2011. Along the way I’ve travelled the country and fallen in love with its culture, rich history, inspiring people and grown convinced that Poland is one of the most exciting emerging economies for British exporters there is.

But there are a few reasons why, if you export already, but you’ve never touched Poland or the surrounding Central and Eastern European region that Poland offers a gateway to, you might want to consider gaining a better understanding of this market.

Because of the people

Poles are rugged entrepreneurs. Their incredible progress since overthrowing communism is proof of that. Believe it or not but Poland has been the fastest growing economy in Europe since 2004. Although there is a long way to go to catch up to markets like France, Germany and the UK there is high growth here in a range of sectors, and with your competitors both in the UK and Europe here in force, can you afford to ignore a high growth market?

Because of the position

Poland is the largest of the countries in the new wave of EU members joining in 2004. Succeeding here will give you new potential to develop your business across the Central and Eastern Europe. Companies like LG Harris, manufacturer of paint brushes and painting accessories, are entering the region from Poland. AB Foods, producer of Blue Dragon and Levi Roots Sauces, set up in Poland first and then grew across the region.

Because of the support

When you decide to export to Poland, you will be able to meet with the BPCC- The British Polish Chamber of Commerce, as well as work with the Department for International Trade out there.  The BPCC helps over a thousand businesses a year, delivering bespoke export consultancy projects for clients across over 30 sectors. By meeting and getting to know the market, you’ll tap into the thousands of businesses that make up our powerful partner network and gain a new appreciation of the Polish market opportunity.

Because your time is priceless

Just 2.5 hours away from the UK with a huge number of low-cost flight options. When you’re juggling an HR crisis, dealing with a product problem, thinking about new product development AND trying to do global business development, a day of your time is priceless.

Despite the internet, Google, Skype and all the other tools we make business happen on these days, nothing still beats boots on the ground. So lace those exporting shoes up and hit the road, we have a rewarding journey ahead of us in Europe’s fastest growing economy and the place I’m proud to call home, Poland.
