With Julia Hartley-Brewer

Julia began her career on an East London newspaper, where she answered calls from Reggie Kray ringing in from prison. She left for the more glamorous role of reporter on Londoner's Diary at The Standard, before joining The Guardian.

As a broadcaster she makes regular appearances on the BBC, Sky, GMTV and Channel Five. She has also been a guest on Richard and Judy and Have I Got News For You.

With Preethi Nair

After her manuscript, Gypsy Masala, was rejected by most publishers, Preethi Nair left a lucrative career as a management consultant to set up her own publishing and PR company. Not having the resources to rent an office and publish her book, Preethi established a multinational in her bedroom and duly appointed feisty director, Pru Menon (an alter ego) to energetically and shamelessly hype her work.

Working as several different people and with a frenetic double life, Preethi gained substantial press coverage for herself. After two years her faith in her own talents and her perseverance in the face of consistent rejection were rewarded; she signed her three-book deal with HarperCollins.
