Other Customs Documents

Business West provides a range of export documentation for overseas trading, including:

EUR1s

These are Preferential Customs documents required as a result of a trade agreement between the EU and in excess of 100 overseas countries. By producing an EUR1 your customer will be able to clear the goods into their country at greatly reduced duty rates and in many cases entirely free of duty.

To be able to produce an EUR1 the goods must be manufactured in the EU and satisfy origin rules laid down in specific Customs Notices 827, 828 and 829.

ATRs

These are similar to EUR1 certificates but are specifically for Turkey. By producing an ATR your customer in Turkey will receive preferential import duty rates, often duty free.

Goods can originate anywhere in the world but must be fully imported into the EU with full import duty having been paid and therefore are in Free Circulation.

The information in these documents are also laid down by Customs Notice 812

Commercial Invoices

Your customer may want your Commercial Invoice to be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce and also, for some countries, legalised by the relevant embassy. We will be able to arrange this for you.

Import Certificates

An import certificate is needed by your overseas supplier to enable them to obtain an export licence from their own government authorities. The import certificate acts as an 'end user' certificate and allows the overseas government to be aware of not only what country these goods are being exported to but also what the goods are going to be used for. Import certificates are normally only required for duel use or strategic goods. We are authorised to issue import certificates.

Standard Shipping Notes

Standard Shipping Notes (SSN) are issued for all shipments and are frequently completed by the freight forwarder. SSN are issued in sets and are more commonly created by computer systems these days.

Dangerous Goods Notes

Dangerous Goods Notes (DGN) are the same as Standard Shipping Notes with the exceptions that the document must be completed and signed by the actual exporter and they are used specifically for goods that are classified as hazardous.

Other Documents

Health Certificates, Agency Agreements, Power of Attorney, Free Sale Certificates, Trade Mark Registration and Packing Lists are among the many other documents that may also need to be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce, legalised by the relevant Embassy and may also require the Apostille of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

We also supply blank Certificates of Value & Origin for various countries e.g. Nigeria, Malawi etc

We can arrange all of this on your behalf.
