Certificates of Origin
What is a Certificate of Origin?
You may be asked for a Certificate of Origin to satisfy overseas
Customs requirements. Overseas Customs may require a certificate
for statistical purposes or to satisfy the requirements of their
own government.
A Certificate of Origin is produced on official forms to comply
with EC regulations.
How to Obtain a Certificate of Origin?
The Bristol Chamber of Commerce is one of the
largest Chambers in the United Kingdom and is authorised by the UK
Government to issue Certificates of Origin for goods exported to
any country in the world. They can be applied for either by post,
courier or electronically using the internet (E-Cert)
What is E-Cert?
E-Cert was originally created by Bristol
Chamber of Commerce and is now used by Chambers of Commerce
throughout the UK. By using E-Cert you can receive your
Certificates of Origin, stamped and signed by ourselves within an
hour, regardless of where your company is located.
You will need to register your company and
will need a password to access the website. Contact us at ecert@gwebusinesswest.co.uk
and we will give you a password.
You may also need a degree of training. We may
be able to guide you through the process over the phone or
alternatively someone from the department will visit you and help
you get started. If you are not in the immediate Bristol area there
may be a small charge to visit to cover costs.
What is A-Cert?
A-Cert is an electronic method of receiving Arab Certificates of
Origin online. You can access A-Cert in the same way as E-Cert on
