Five more communities set to benefit from roll-out programme meaning that more than three quarters of South West premises will have access to new technology within the year. The Gloucestershire Chamber of Commerce welcomes this new development.
BT have announced plans to make faster broadband available to a further 12,000 homes and business in the County. Berkeley, Blakeney, Saul, Tetbury and Whitecroft are amongst the latest communitities in the South West to be included in the roll-out of BT's next generation broadband service delivered over copper lines. Theya re due to be upgraded by the Spring of next year.
Suzanne Hall-Gibbins, Director of Gloucestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: "This kind of major investment has never been more vital. It is an essential part of building a more prosperous Gloucestershire in these economically uncertain times. Businesses can use the technology to become more efficient and competitive, whilst individuals can develop their education and skills for a fast changing world."
