The judges have been revealed for Insider's inaugural Made in the South West Awards. A number of experts from the aerospace and defence, food and drink, low carbon and manufacturing industries have been confirmed as the judges for the awards.
Barry Warburton, chief executive of the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF); John Sheaves, chief executive of Taste of the South West; Paul Knight, regional director of manufacturing and engineering trade association EEF; Christine Marshall, chairman of Food & Drink South West; Alan Bailey, chairman of Low Carbon South West; and Russell Jones, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) regional director, are to judge the prestigious awards.
The judges are to decide which South West companies are to be shortlisted for one of the seven categories for the awards in November.
The categories are Aerospace/ Defence, Innovation/ R&D, Exporter, Sustainable Manufacturer, Food and Drink, Advanced Manufacturer and Manufacturer of the Year.
UKTI's Russell Jones said: "There is a huge demand for quality British products, services and expertise in all corners of the world and research shows that a growing number of small and medium-sized business in the South West have increased their export levels.
"I am keen to see the innovation that entrants in the 'Export' category have shown, not only in their products and services but also in how they have developed their business for international markets."
