Our Vision for South Bristol
We would like to share with you our vision for the
expansion and development of South Bristol. Our interest in
promoting change and development in South Bristol comes from an
overall belief that this will support and enable regeneration
whilst also improving the overall economic prosperity of the sub
region.
The proposed development at
South West Bristol provides us with a unique opportunity to deliver
the benefits of growth to an area where improvements are
desperately needed. An area of potential and opportunity, perhaps
the single biggest opportunity we have to make a difference and to
secure integrated, sustainable and innovative development. “Getting
it right” will move us a long way towards achieving our aspiration
for Bristol (and the sub region) to be the best place to live and
operate in business and to be a truly international
city-region.
The September 2008 Initiative
Evening saw some excellent presentations from John Savage, David
Lock and Colin Molton outlining the challenges and opportunities we
face in this area, and what some of the solutions might be. As this
is such an important issue we made a recording of the evening’s
presentations and have put together a short DVD which reflects the
most important points raised. View the
"GWE Business West - Vision and Ambition for South Bristol"
here.
In addition to the DVD, we have
also included a copy of the storyboards
developed by David Lock following the workshop we held in February
last year. We are also intending to produce a short “pamphlet”
outlining the vision in a more user friendly way
– available soon.
Our work on South Bristol
remains a top priority for the Initiative Team in 2010 and we would
welcome your support and input into the project. If you would like
further information then please contact Tessa Coombes as
we would very much welcome your engagement to take this
forward.

proposed urban extension see the
