UKTI International Month June 2008

If you are a company interested in breaking into new markets
overseas, a month-long series of events in June provides the
perfect opportunity to check out the potential of high-growth
countries and sectors, and get practical tips and access to
services that will help you expand with confidence.
International Month, organised by UK
Trade & Investment (UKTI) and partners, is a nationwide
initiative aimed at new and exporters alike. It comprises
conferences and seminars covering particular sectors or markets and
giving essential insights into specific areas of opportunity, as
well as networking events and training days.
If you need any persuading, recent research shows that new
exporters boost their productivity by up to a third in their first
year of exporting and confirms that, in general, exporting
companies are more productive than non-exporters and significantly
more likely to stay in business.
Sectors and themes covered during International
Month will include the creative industries, innovation and
global brand development among others; and there will be events
concentrating on high-growth markets, such as China, Brazil, South
Africa and Russia, featuring speakers with expert knowledge and
experience of breaking into these markets.
The events will also provide opportunities for delegates to
talk to UKTI's International Trade Advisers about your company's
particular export interests and ambitions and find out more about
the business services that UKTI can provide. As well as some
of UKTI's officers visiting from the UK from various markets around
the world, to give you up-to-date market information at 1-2-1
seminars and events.
As part of the nationwide celebration of International
Month, UKTI South West are hosting an International
Trade Fair, ExploreExport in Exeter on Monday 30th
June 2008.
The aim of the day is to provide businesses from the region
with a one-stop-shop offering expert advice and guidance on how to
make a success of international trade. A range of specialist
organisations will be represented on the day at workshops and
exhibitions, and part of the day will include a plenary session
featureing a keynote speaker and team of panellists for a
debate/Q&A style session.
