Business West is partnering with Pact to provide a package of support for ATA Carnets to aid UK film and TV producers filming overseas. The benefits include a 15% discount, and help and advice, all now available on the Pact Growth Accelerator…

As Pact members are likely to be aware, an ATA Carnet is an international customs document that operates like a passport for your film equipment when shooting productions overseas, be it in the EU or further afield. It allows the temporary importation of your equipment into countries that are part of the ATA Carnet scheme, which is over 80 countries (including the EU), and it avoids you having to pay unnecessary taxes or duties. ATA carnets simplify the customs procedure into a single document, which makes the importation procedure much easier, and helps avoid unnecessary delays at the border.

Business West partnership

Pact is working with Business West, one of the UK’s largest Chambers of Commerce, to provide a package of support to our members across the UK when acquiring ATA Carnets, to make it easier and cheaper to apply for your ATA Carnets, whether you are working in Europe or beyond. Business West has been issuing Carnets for decades and their expert team work regularly with production companies, freelancers, and freight forwarders on their Carnets.

Catherine Stephens, Head of International Trade Services said: “We are pleased to be working with Pact as we have seen a sharp increase in the number of production companies we are working with, and we are aware that applying for and using a Carnet can sometimes feel complicated. Leaving the EU has undeniably created more bureaucracy for firms, but companies can take control of the situation by ensuring all the paperwork is in place to eliminate delays and avoidable costs. We aim to help companies make it as straightforward as possible.”

  • A 15% discount off the cost of an ATA Carnet (normally £350+VAT).
