Lets say all of a sudden, you could flawlessly speak the language and accents of 75 nations; you could understand their cultures, get a feel for what works and doesn’t in those sometimes far away lands and can find the best way for your company to sell in those markets.

Well, short of Martin Luther King’s more serious and important dream, this other dream can become a reality when you work with the Department for International Trade. In our British Embassies all over the world, our Trade and Commercial Officers are positioned strategically for your business and the vital connections you need to trade overseas.

I am one of those Trade Officers and I can provide you with my command of Spanish, my understanding of doing business in Argentina, my database of contacts and the door opening abilities the British crest has in Argentina.

Argentina is an exciting country at an exciting moment in time.

First, it is the world’s 25th largest economy and South America’s second. It is the second largest manufacturing power house in South America making almost anything from cars and mobiles to satellites and nuclear reactors.

It is sitting on the world’s second largest reserves of non conventional natural gas, a wealth of mineral resources largely unexploited and is of course one of the world’s largest food producers with 40 million producing food products for 400 million. It is also home to Latin America’s three top Internet companies and I haven’t even mentioned football yet… or rugby!

Argentina has recently been a fairly protectionist market, but is still South America’s third top importer which is why it important to get local advice and to team up with good local partners, both areas in which we can add value to your company so you too can take advantage of its size and sophistication.

We see opportunities across many sectors including: Agritech, Experience Economy, ICT (specially mobile and internet based technologies), Mining, Oil & Gas, Retail, and Urban Security.  If you think your business could benefit from the opportunities that Argentina poses, get in touch via the friendly team at the South West International Trade Centre on 01275 370944.
