From October 2025 onwards it has been confirmed that work will commence on the second iteration of the national rollout of the LSIPs, allowing the important work of these projects to continue.
Business West is proud of the work that the LSIPs in West of England and North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire and Gloucestershire have achieved so far. It is encouraging to see the LSIPs continuing to align with the government's Plan for Change.
Managing Director of Business West, Phil Smith, said:
“This extension is great news for LSIPs and our region. The plans are driving real change through partnership with stakeholders, and research that accurately represents the skills landscape. LSIPs have made incredible progress over the past three years and, following the Department of Education’s announcement, I look forward to seeing this continue over the next six months, and beyond.”
With this extension, we can continue working with our partners on the priorities that we collaboratively identified in the LSIP roadmaps and work together on joint solutions. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to share your opinions on the skills landscape in the West of England & North Somerset, Swindon & Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
