New initiative boxes up exporting opportunities

14th May 2019

The Great British Food Programme have launched a new e-Buyer box initiative which sees British food and drink products shipped to international buyers, with products they have selected from the Great British Food Directory

So far we've sent boxes to a number of buyers in Canada, China, Germany and USA; with more planned to other buyers in other countries.

How does the Great British Food Box initiative work?

The Great British Food Box initiative was developed as a way to make it easier for British food and drink produce to be sampled by international buyers, with the long-term aim of progressing further exports for British companies.

Once the box has been received by the buyer overseas, follow-up sales phone calls are arranged for each British producer to further showcase and highlight the qualities of their products to the buyer; saving both parties significant time and money compared to traditional sales channels.

How to get involved

To be in with a chance of being selected by a buyer from our next food box market you need to be listed on the Great British Food Directory. If you are not already on the directory, now is the time to create a profile to get your brand in front of international buyers.

The directory is packed with lots of features and functionality; the most important being a user management facility that gives you full control of your profile.

You can log in to manage and update your profile information, indicate your target markets, register to attend upcoming events, message international buyers, and upload all your latest products whenever you want.

Best of all though, the directory is entirely free!
