On 20 March 2019, the Skills team at Business West teamed up with the STEM Ambassador Hub West England at Graphic Science to deliver the Business and Education Engagement Network event.
The event was to help businesses in the West of England understand how to engage with education establishments more effectively, to ensure future generations have the skills that employers need.
Attendees learnt more about how to build an effective relationship with schools, colleges and young people, and heard of the benefits that effective engagement between business and education can bring.
Speakers such as Emily Kent, CEO at One Big Circle, and Natasha Watson, Senior Structural Engineer at Buro Happold, shared hints, tips and best practice on how to build a valuable relationship with employers and educators, with examples of what works best to get the results you both want.

We had no hesitation in pledging to Skills West and supporting the valuable work they are doing. It's vital that all companies, small and large, have the foresight to invest in the future workforce, helping ensure they have the skills and employability companies need. There are so many ways this can be done effectively, and engaging with Skills West is a great way to start.
