Richard Tidswell started trading as Business Doctors in 2013, to provide hands on support to small and medium sized business owners, enabling them to overcome their individual challenges and helping them to achieve their aspirations for growth.
Business Doctors has always had close ties with Business West and have helped its clients access grant funding to support the growth and development of their businesses. Richard thought he should take some of his own medicine and make an investment into his own business. He identified that the business could benefit from support with digital marketing and PR, to help raise its profile and awareness and to engage with its online audience more effectively.
Richard applied for a scale up coaching grant from Business West as part of the Enterprising West of England programme and was awarded £1,560. He found the application process straightforward and the Enterprising West of England team helped him at all points along the journey.

The grant funding enabled Business Doctors to work with PR The Write Way to help develop a PR and marketing plan, raise its brand profile and develop a social media and digital strategy. The scale up coaching support they have received has enabled Business Doctors to develop a digital content strategy, build its online following and increase its enquiries. As a result of the PR coaching, Business Doctors has also been featured in a range of regional press.
