Weston Super-Mare has a new car wash in the centre of town that is proving popular with the seaside town’s residents. Berti’s Car Wash operates in the heart of Weston Super-Mare from the car park of a busy Tesco supermarket, an ideal location which gives the business a high footfall of clients looking to get their car washed whilst they complete their shopping.
Berti’s Car Wash was the idea of Rosie Semaj whose husband has worked in the car wash industry for the last five years. During that time he has gained a reputation for providing a quality service - so much so that many clients would remain with him if he changed employer.
Customers can choose from four services: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The ethos of Berti's Car Wash is to provide a high quality service - not just in regards to washing cars, but also to customer service.
Berti's Car Wash differs from other hand car washes by
- allowing the customer to leave their car and collect it at their convenience
- using only high end products (Autoglym) which do not contain acids
- Berti's Car Wash has full insurance on the site
Securing Finance was a challenge for Rosie. After first approaching the bank, Rosie was signposted to SWIG Finance, where she was offered the chance to become involved with the Start & Grow programme run by Business West.
Rosie received support from the team at Start & Grow, who helped her produce the business plan which was so crucial to securing the finance from SWIG Finance. In addition to this, there is continued help from the team regarding the running of her business.
