Business West works closley with business leaders and forward-thinking entrepreneurs across the region, identifying through active engagement on the key issues in business that impact business and economic growth. For over 25 years we have been playing active roles to help make this area the best place to set up and run a business and to improve the quality of life, health and educational aspirations for our communities.
Policy team
Locally, the policy team have been successful in lobbying for the £200million MetroBus project to improve transport in Bristol, and as a part of the British Chambers of Commerce we have helped influence national campaigns such as a freeze in business rate rises.
As the main business organisation for our region, we gather intelligence continuously through regular meetings and engagement with local businesses, our Local Business Survey and detailed research conducted via monitoring external indicators and liaising with partners.
Chamber of Commerce members play an important part in this, representing business views through engagement with our local survey, and get access to key reports.

The Initiative
Additionally, the Initiative at Business West are two dedicated business leadership teams working locally across the region to enable the business community to positively influence the way our area is shaped, managed and developed - and provide an effective link between private and public sectors to ensure the interests of commerce are considered in key local decision-making.
