Fund the next step of your international sales journey with a £1,000 bursary
If you're looking to increase your export activity or to boost existing sales and profits with new international orders, then our Export for Growth bursaries can help.
A bursary can be used to fund a variety of activities such as making improvements to your website, commissioning market research reports, running international social media advertising campaigns or visiting an overseas market or trade show.
Who can apply
The Export for Growth bursaries are only available to SMEs (a company with fewer than 250 employees, and an annual turnover not exceeding €50m) who are based in the South West of England.
The bursary is part of the Export for Growth programme, a business support service that is designed to help businesses accelerate sales and boost profits through exports. For further information please visit the Export for Growth website here.
Please note that if you're company has previously benefited from, or received support under the Export for Growth programme then you will not be eligible to apply for a bursary.
What can the money be used for
For a business cost to be eligible for bursary funding the activity must directly relate to business growth through international trade.
Examples of eligible business costs include:
- international market research
- website optimisation for overseas markets
- market visits (travel and accommodation expenses)
- international digital marketing campaigns
- attending overseas trade shows
Please note that this bursary funding cannot be used to cover the cost of purchasing any 'business as usual' sevices such as:
- fixed assets
- staff costs
- regular consultancy services
- regular domestic marketing or advertising

There are no costs associated with applying for an Export for Growth bursary.
If you are successful in applying for a bursary, in order to claim the money it is important that you follow the strict terms and conditions set out in the application process or risk having your claim rejected.
