Inspiring thinking: the benefits of employing young people

8th December 2020
Starts at 10:00am
Ends at 11:30am

Join us for our first inspiring & informative Workforce for the Future workshop- Inspiring thinking: the benefits of employing young people.

This interactive workshop will highlight how employing a young person in your business can bring new ideas and fresh thinking as well as providing an opportunity to start their career.

During this workshop you’ll hear from speakers Nicky Williams, Business West, Sally Melvin, Ablaze and Alex Richards from Western Training Partnership Network.

You’ll gain advice and guidance on how to prepare your business to work with young people and what you need to consider, for example HR, training and mentoring. You’ll also receive best practice advice on ways to employ young people and ‘on board’ them in your business.

We’ll also explain the benefits of the new government Kickstart programme which will help you to provide employment opportunities for young people (aged 16-24), whilst getting a grant from the government to cover costs.

Workforce for the Future programme can help your business identify employee development areas, plan and adapt for the future, upskill and retrain employees and access new talent.

Business West is delivering Workforce for the Future in collaboration with other partners and the West of England Combined Authority.
