The Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) enables further education providers across a geographic area to respond collectively to the priorities in the Local Skills Improvement Plans. It also provides investment in technical skills to better support the needs of the local labour market and wider economy and can be used on infrastructure, learning environments, teaching and more, to help improve training provision for the local area.

In 2023 SGS College was announced as the lead provider for the LSIF in the local area and was allocated £2.5 million worth of funding across two financial years. The college will lead on the countywide project on behalf of the four Further Education Colleges in the area - SGS, Cirencester, Hartpury, and Gloucestershire College. SGS are also working with the West of England Institute of Technology on a separate LSIF project for their Bristol based campuses.

The investment supports the expansion and upgrading of resources for construction, digital, and agritech and will allow considerable investment in digital infrastructure enabling learners to work with the latest technology.

We’d like to invite you to join us to learn more about:

  • It’s precursor the Strategic Development Fund, and the attached activities
