How we can help

The South West Regional Loan Fund provides loans of £10,000 to £100,000 to eligible small and medium sized companies that have been unable to raise sufficient funding from their bank. 

The application process is straightforward – just complete the application form! We will start the assessment of your application and will aim to give you a decision within 15 working days. Please contact us if you need to discuss your application at any stage.

SWIG Finance provides business loans to the South West. They can say yes when the banks say no. Operating for more than 25 years, SWIG Finance is a not-for-profit organisation delivering loan finance to small and medium sized enterprises in the South West region which cannot access sufficient funding from the banks. We can work alongside the banks and other funders to ensure our clients have the finance they need for the success of their business.

Eligibility

South West Regional Loans are available to limited companies with less than 250 employees and a turnover of up to €50 million or a balance sheet of up to €43 million (EU definition of a medium sized company). Viable investment plans that will create and/or safeguard jobs but cannot attract sufficient bank finance. Finance is available for agreed investment costs only. The loan fund is available in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Cost

An arrangement fee of 3% is payable on loan draw down and a 2% annual premium is charged on all loans guaranteed under the Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme (EFG). Fees for the taking of any security are levied on a cost basis and the interest on the loan is 12%.
