The data centre design, build and maintenance company already benefit from a solid client base, but rather than resting on its laurels Workspace Technology plan to double the turnover of its existing Maintenance & Support Services, and to launch a new Advanced Power Division, providing Critical Power Services across all market sectors.
Established in 2004, Managing Director Roy Griffiths has built the company up to what it is today supported by an experienced and dedicated team. With an impressive turnover of approx. £7m, Workspace Technology has a unique competitive advantage. As an independent company it provides data centre consultancy, design, build, maintenance and rack hosting services 100% in-house using its unrivalled expertise and onsite co-location data centre.
As an organisation that provides energy efficient, environmentally-friendly business solutions the company strongly believes in the benefits of using a sustainable supply chain based on supporting the local economy. To create effective relationships with local businesses, Workspace Technology has joined the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce as Premier Members and more recently the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Business West Chambers of Commerce.
Over the past 12 months, Head of Marketing & Operations Dawn Smiley, has been working with Aston Business School on their Advanced Services Programme looking at ways in which to package services together to increase sales but to also add value to the end client. Subsequently clients can now purchase a data centre with a maintenance & support contract paying monthly rather than as a one-off capex cost.
Healthcare is one of the key sectors that the company serves and to gain greater insight into the procurement and finance processes, Workspace Technology worked with the Innovation Engine Project and NHS Moseley to ensure that service enhancements could be made.
By accessing these Government funded projects, the company has been able to develop its service offering and has attributed to an increase in sales resulting in additional employment opportunities being generated.
The new Advanced Power Division will provide mission critical equipment for the non-data centre industry. From generators to UPS systems, Workspace Technology will provide equipment and maintenance solutions which will further build on the expertise they already provide to the data centre industry whilst creating additional job roles.
