Last week (21st of March) Intertraffic,  the world’s biggest industry event into smart mobility and traffic management was held in Amsterdam.

Bristol was represented by a new tech startup: Urban Hawk. Founded by Robert Sugar (CEO at Urban Hawk), the company provides remote sensing and data analytics services.

Urban Hawk is already active in marine ports (Sea Traffic Management consortium with ports of Barcelona, Valencia, Stavanger, Limassol), applying technology to detect when operations start and finish to boost efficiency and safety.

Urban Hawk is looking into potential applications in the road safety and traffic management context. The event organisers invited us to speak about future application potential of AI in detection and prevention, and potential collaborations. It was also an opportunity to give a specific British and Bristol based perspective on traffic management.

There should therefore be further opportunities for shared solutions in a post Brexit world. In the meantime Urban Hawk remain available to the SME in the Bristol and the wider business communities.
