Pre-Recruit and Train

Our Pre-Recruit and Train programme provided organisations with the oppotrunity to bid for funding to co-design and deliver bespoke pre-employment training opportunities for learners, as part of the Skills West programme.

The aim of the courses was to equip up to 360 learners with the skills and competencies that are needed to apply for roles in the West of England Enterprise Zones and Enterprise Areas.

During the course of the programme we funded courses designed by Babbasa T2 Apprenticeship AcademyBath CollegeN-gaged Training and Recruitment Ltd and City of Bristol College which have helped to enrich learners across Bristol and Bath.

Babbasa is a Bristol-based social enterprise that empowers young people (Up to 25) from ethnically diverse and less advantaged communities to move into work, education, or business – so they feel inspired, supported and ready to fulfill their ambitions.

Babbasa offered learners a range of unique pre-recruitment workshops aimed at building learners employability skills and ‘personal social capital’ to help them thrive with career progression pursuit. There were 10 individual workshops (modules) available and participants could take part in any or all of them. In addition, Babbasa offered regular Spotlight sessions where local businesses interact with learners to develop an understanding of career pathways and local opportunities.
