Leading business support organisation, Business West, has scooped the coveted Innovator of the Year award at the Bristol Post Business Awards 2018.
The award recognises Business West’s International Trade Centre team for its work in inspiring companies to investigate exporting, or to grow their international sales. Now employing over 100 advisers and experts, the International Trade Centre is a ‘one-stop export shop’, unlike any other, pulling together all the practical and strategic support a business could need.
Business West collected the award in front of hundreds of people from across Bristol’s business community on 21 June at the ceremony at Ashton Gate, beating off stiff competition from Little Giggles Soft play and Waldeck Consulting.
Organised by the Bristol Post, the awards celebrate the achievements of businesses from across the city and are a highlight of the regional business calendar.

“To be crowned Innovator of the Year at the biggest business awards in the South West is fantastic, this award is recognition for helping local businesses achieve almost £0.5bn worth of additional export sales and creating nearly 4000 new jobs for the regional economy.
“In 2017, our International Trade Centre successfully engaged with 6,000 exporters, assisted 2,010 companies with their overseas sales and processed over 45,000 export documents. Record breaking numbers across the board.”
The Innovator of the Year award is presented to a business that has introduced a new product, process, invention, idea, or design that has made a significant contribution to the business.

Business West was also delighted to present the Start-up Business of the Year award on the night to Mobius Works Ltd.
