Business West delivers a range of commercial services; the Chambers of Commerce in Bristol, Bath and Gloucestershire and Wiltshire; and a number of publicly funded services (including the Department for International Trade (DIT) in the south west).  Some of these areas have specific data usage arrangements which are outlined in this policy.

When we collect your data

We collect personal information on visitors to the Business West website at different points. These include:

Chamber of Commerce Membership

Membership of the Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Chamber of Commerce provides access to various benefits including: 

  • Publication of company and contact details in the on-line directory on this website –  providing an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of your business.
  • Regular e-newsletters providing essential business information and news 
  • The publication of company name on membership lists distributed to other members, providing another promotional route for members.

Other Memberships and Contracts

Business West delivers a number of publicly funded programmes on behalf of local, national and EU government bodies (Funders). 

Business West and those Funders operate in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.  The personal information provided through these programmes will be used by Business West to provide business advice and services.  For contractual purposes, it may also be shared with the relevant Funder for the purposes of research and monitoring our performance.  All information will be held in the strictest confidence.
