Gloucestershire’s poor productivity was put under the microscope at a Business West networking breakfast at the University of Gloucestershire’s Business and Technology School this morning (10 April).
Stewart Barnes, managing director of QuoLux, the Gloucestershire leadership and strategic development company, is also a director of the University’s new Centre for Innovation and Productivity.The task of this new centre is to encourage business in Gloucestershire to close the productivity gap, which is now around 6 per cent behind the national average.“UK productivity now stands at 17 per cent behind the average in the G7 countries and a whopping 35 per cent behind Germany”, said Stewart.He added: “Like for like, a business in Gloucestershire is almost 40 per cent behind its equivalent in output in Germany.”- Log in to post comments
