We’re welcoming mindful employers from across Swindon and the local area to join us for crucial discussions surrounding mental health and employee wellbeing in the workplace. Helping you to foster an understanding, supportive and productive workplace for you and your employees.

During our Swindon Mindful Employer Network series, which is in partnership Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind and Swindon Borough Council, we’ll discuss different challenges and issues that employers might be faced with.

For our event in May we will be hosting a virtual event where we'll be joined from expert speakers to discuss the topic of embracing individuality in the workplace. Our speakers will cover LGBTQI+ & Mental Health in the Workplace, Menstrual health and Menopause, and Mental Health Awareness Week.

Our speakers include:

  • Beckett Frith from National Mind, covering the topic of LGBTQI+ & Mental Health in the Workplace

Beckett is a transgender man who has worked for Mind in London since 2019. He’s worked with the LGBTQIA+ Network to support Mind’s attendance in Pride events across the country, and has spoken on behalf of Mind at Trans Pride in Brighton.

  • Karen Heavan, Employee Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Lead from Swindon Borough Council will be discussing the topic of menstrual health and menopause.

Karen will be delving into the topic of gynaecological and reproductive health, discussing some of the statistics and challenges that women face in the UK with menstruation and menopause in the workplace. She'll discuss how having an open culture in your organisation to discuss these issues can support employee wellbeing and create an inclusive and productive workforce. Finally, Karen will explain some of the ways you can low cost and simple implement solutions to support your employees.

  • Sara Bhavani from Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind, speaking about Mental Health Awareness Week and this years theme of movement.

Sara Bhavani, Mental Health Trainer, is employed by Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind to deliver training aimed at assisting organisations in optimising the mental health and well-being of their teams.
