Does Peru accept ATA Carnets?

Yes. Peru is on the ATA Carnet scheme (from 30th April 2024).

ATA Carnets will be accepted by the Peruvian Customs for the following categories of goods:

  • goods for display or use at exhibitions, fairs, meetings, or similar events and

  • professional equipment.

Additional information:

ATA Carnets are accepted for transit, postal traffic, hand-carried goods and freight. Importation in multiple/split consignments is accepted.

Carnets should be completed in English or Spanish.

In case of incorrect goods valuation, the ATA Carnet shall be rejected at the time of import. In case the claim is regularised by evidence other than the re-exportation counterfoil completed and stamped by the Peruvian Customs authority, Peru Customs reserves the right to charge a regularisation fee (the amount is to be confirmed).
