In my last post I outlined the Main Programme of this Initiative; the business topics that we all need to keep on top of. The Supplementary Programme is more about how we do things and how we appear to others. There are four 30-minute sessions; one of which is a one-to-one, the rest are group sessions.

1.    Team Skills and Roles (one-to-one). The attendee completes a questionnaire and submits it in advance of the session. During the session we go through the output and it’s significance. For example, some of us are great and coming up with new ideas but not great at completing all the detail of the business. So this identifies potential strengths and gaps. Relevance? If we are aware of the gaps then we can (a) make sure we pay more attention to them and/or (b) make sure when we hire someone, they have a skill set that can help with some of the gaps.

2.    Values and You (group session). Many of us think we have a range of values that really matter to us but frequently there are only a small number that are actually fundamental and we won’t break. This session is about identifying these, how they impact how we work and how we reposnd to others.

3.    Emotional Quotient (group session). EQ is the emotional equivalent of IQ and is important in our relationships with staff, customers, suppliers and friends and family. It also helps in understanding how we are seen by others. In knowing that we can adapt to suit the person and the situation.

4.    Wheel of Life (group session). This is about balance in our lives. It’s easy to get out of balance without realising it. This is a good tool to check and adjust where needed.

All are covered within the period of the seven Main Programme sessions.

The fee for the whole thing - Main Programme and Supplementary Programme – is £300.00 per attendee for Business West members. The standard fee is £895.00

In addition, there are a wide range of other exercises that can be run outside the Group Coaching Initiative. These have other benefits in learning about how and who we are, how we are seen and in positively impacting our businesses. More on these in the next post.
