Rachel has been valued member of the Stride Treglown team since 2000 and is a divisional director architect with varied experience across many of the sectors including, education, retail, transport, defence and leisure. Rachel was shortlisted for Architect of the Year as part of the 2014 Women in Construction Awards.
Rachel has developed into her role as Head of Business Development on the strength of her natural ability in developing relationships with design consultants, contractors and clients as well as sharing information across the sectors of Stride Treglown. She is also Head of Transport and has been building up this sector over the past few years following her secondment to Heathrow in 2007/8.
Prior to her role as Head of Transport, Rachel led the “new build” section of the retail team where Stride Treglown are appointed on the Sainsbury’s framework in both the South West and Wales regions for extensions and new build projects. Rachel managed external consultants and client liaison to ensure Sainsbury’s designs targets and programme dates were met.
Rachel has been a member of Women in Property in the South West since 2006 and on the committee for the last 8 years. Rachel was 2017/2018 chairman for the SW region. As part of her role in expanding the roadshow offer (linking to schools), Rachel initiated the schools eco homes competition which has now been running since 2012.
Rachel is enthusiastic about all things transportation and even chose a holiday specifically to fly on the A380 when it was first available. She is a covert railway enthusiast and a proud shareholder in the West Somerset Railway. In her spare time Rachel is a fantastic home baker, an avid chicken keeper, and relaxes by practicing yoga
