Free workshops at Rombourne serviced offices were the brainchild of Danielle Mottram, Business Centre Manager, who wanted to do something to support local businesses within Swindon.

The first workshop was held on July 3, at Rombourne’s Kingston House, West Swindon, run in partnership with Shirley Hensher from The Change Agent.

Danielle said: “Shirley is one of my newest clients at Kingston House, and this was a great opportunity for us to work together in supporting the local business community.”

“I am keen to integrate and support the local business community. I really wanted to try something different and I have the facilities to accommodate varying size workshops.”

Shirley Hensher is a business and career coach who helps provide a fresh perspective to her clients so they can shape working lives that work for them. Shirley covers a range of issues which stem from how they use their time, for example stress, overwhelm, resentment, demotivation - and that’s to name a few! Together, Danielle and Shirley hosted a fun, interactive workshop which aimed to help participants rediscover their sense of direction and purpose within the working environment.

In the workshop Shirley covered personal objectives and how to achieve them. Everyone left with strategies personal to them that could be actioned right away, so they could feel productive and in control of the working day. In line with workshops Rombourne is also offering ‘drop in’ copy clinics at Kingston House, run by Jo Smyth, of PR and copywriting agency Word Worker.

Jo works with SMEs and uses her journalism skills to craft press releases which hit the mark with online and offline media. At the copy clinics, Jo is on hand to give advice on everything from copywriting dos and don’ts to where and when to send press releases. She said: “I always enjoyed copy clinics when I was a young journalist, and received some really fantastic advice from my editors, so it’s great to be able to help business owners unlock their own writing potential.”

Danielle added: “We look forward to continuing to host and provide workshops and copy clinics and I welcome businesses contacting me if they feel they have a topic of interest that would be relevant to other businesses. I attended our first workshop, hosted by Shirley, and found it to be very rewarding.”

All future events are available to book via Eventbrite and will be advertised on LinkedIn and Twitter. If you would like further information on Rombourne’s workshops/copy clinics please contact Danielle Mottram at dmottram@rombourne.co.uk or 01793 683550
