The Somerset Innovation Network (SI-Net) is delighted to announce the release of its latest workshop dates for 2024, providing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Somerset and Dorset with valuable opportunities for growth and development.
Entrepreneurs can tap into a wealth of knowledge through fully-funded 1-2-1 business support and technical workshops organised by SI-Net. Led by experienced Business Advisors, these interactive sessions cover a range of digital, low carbon, aerospace and advanced manufacturing topics, including marketing strategy, digital marketing, SEO, sustainability, grant application guidance, and 3D printing. All workshops are generously funded by Somerset Council as part of SI-Net's commitment to fostering innovation and business excellence in the region.
The program has already proven successful, benefiting a diverse range of companies across the region.
Jack, CEO at Yeovil-based 50DEGREES, attests to the program's impact: "All the workshop sessions I've attended have been very insightful and informative. I've certainly come away with new tasks to accomplish."
Scheduled for February 14th, an upcoming workshop on 'Introduction to 3D Printing' at the iAero Centre in Yeovil promises an immersive experience. In collaboration with Mark3D and supported by Business West and WEAF, the session offers attendees a firsthand look at the 3D printing process and the ALM process in action, drawing on the expertise of specialists in this technology.
SI-Net's mission is to drive innovation and simplify access to business support, fostering collaboration between organisations. By uniting three innovation centres in Somerset – iAero in Yeovil, Digital Innovation Centre in Taunton, and SEIC in Bridgwater – SI-Net aims to support innovative businesses in their growth, development, and collaboration endeavours.
Jack emphasises the value of 1-2-1 coaching, stating, "The 1-2-1 coaching has been the most valuable so far due to Sian's passion for helping my business along, as well as the insights she's offered from running her own business."
SMEs in the Low Carbon, Digital, and Advanced Engineering/Aerospace sectors are eligible for free support. Regularly held workshops provide participants with a platform to gain valuable insights and deepen their understanding of crucial business topics.
Delivered jointly by Business West and the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF), with WEAF serving as the support lead for Advanced Engineering/Aerospace, the SI-Net project is a collaborative effort dedicated to opening up new opportunities for businesses.
Jane Purdy, Head of Enterprise at Business West and Project Manager for SI-Net, affirms, "There's a lot of opportunities available for businesses who are part of the Somerset Innovation Network. We will work with you to identify new market potential, assess your business model and product strength, and grow your network."
