Firms in Somerset can receive free, specialist business support by joining the Somerset Innovation Network.
Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Somerset County Council, the Somerset Innovation Network is run by Business West and aims to drive innovation in the area and make support for businesses easier to access.
The network looks to bring together three innovation centres in Somerset - iAero in Yeovil, Digital Innovation Centre in Taunton (currently being built) and SEIC in Bridgwater, to encourage collaboration and innovation between businesses, whilst helping them grow and develop through a variety of tailored support.
Head of Enterprise at Business West and Project Manager, Jane Purdy, commented, “Businesses will benefit from support across a wide range of relevant topics, from digital marketing, market strategy and finance, to business structure, collaboration and investor readiness.”
Companies in the Digital, Low Carbon, Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace sectors will be able to access a 1-2-1 diagnostic with an innovation specialist, interactive workshops, networking opportunities and expert business advice via the network, which is free to join.
Jane continued, “It’s a great chance for businesses in the Somerset area to build relationships with each other, collaborate on new and exciting projects and access support which can help their company flourish. Our advisors are highly experienced and can also connect businesses with relevant contacts.”
Current workshops that are available to attend include Market Strategy, Becoming Grant Ready and Improving your LinkedIn, SEO and Website Presence.
Business West is working with a number of partners on the Somerset Innovation Network including WEAF, Techspark, SetSquared Exeter, Digital Somerset, Yeovil Innovation Centre, Yeovil College and Enterprise centres in Somerset.
