Writing a business plan can seem like a daunting task, and it can be easily overlooked when you know your product or service inside-out. It is, however, a crucial part of developing not only your business idea but defining your objectives and keeping you on-track.
A solid business plan is also a necessity for acquiring most forms of funding or investment. A business plan is your road map to success, and once you get started you will realise that putting it together is not as difficult as it seems. This preparation will help you to avoid future pitfalls, ultimately saving you time and money.
How we can help
You’ve got your business idea but what are the next steps? We can help by providing practical advice on how to write a business plan; we’ll even provide you with a workable business plan template and step-by-step guidance at our business planning and finance workshop.
Designed to support potential and new entrepreneurs, our in-depth, interactive workshop will help you to create and develop robust, investment-ready business plans and financial forecasts.
Facilitated and delivered by our start-up experts, the workshop consists of key sessions where you’ll be able to:
• Create a robust business plan
• Understand the key elements of branding and marketing
• Clarify sources of start-up finance and application support
• Learn how to manage cash flow, profit and loss and bookkeeping
• Understand how to create sales projections
• Discuss your start-up business goals with like-minded people in a supportive environment
• Gain access to business planning templates that will tick the right boxes with investors and lenders
You'll also receive one-to-one follow up support to review your business plans and provide help with any start-up loan applications.
"The workshop made me look at my business from the outside, as a business owner this can be difficult as you get lost in the day-to-day running of the business and struggle to do the important things. I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone that has started a business or is thinking of starting one.” - Dave Keay, K.P Garage & Bodyshop
Our 1-day business planning and finance workshops costs up to £48.00 to attend (workshops are subsidised for businesses regsitered in Swindon and Wiltshire) and include a free follow up meeting with a start-up business adviser.
