Small and medium businesses in North Somerset are set to benefit from expert support to help them enhance their digital presence and adopt new technologies, via the Tech for Growth project.
Delivered in partnership with North Somerset Council, Business West and techSPARK, the initiative will offer eligible organisations the chance to receive tailored tech adoption consultancy, which aims to improve their competitiveness and increase their productivity.
Ben Masheder, Project Manager for Tech for Growth at Business West commented,
“This project has already been rolled out across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset, with a number of businesses already receiving high level support. We’re now excited to be working with North Somerset Council to ensure organisations in this area can benefit from specialist knowledge and 1-2-1 consultancy.”
Businesses will receive support to thrive in the evolving digital landscape through a variety of methods including workshops on key topics, skills guidance and bespoke 1-2-1 advice.
Ben continued, “Support through Tech for Growth will enable North Somerset businesses to put in place new systems to improve processes, productivity and competitiveness along with offering them support to enter new markets, attract new customers, increase sales, and support growth in turnover and employment.
Delegates on the programme will have the chance to enhance their knowledge on subjects such as AI, Data Management, Digital Marketing, Brand Strategy and Sales Processes, as well as connect with experts and peers to share best practices.
Ben commented “It is essential businesses have the knowledge, provision and means to excel in an increasingly digital world and Tech for Growth is poised to deliver precisely that.”
Councillor Mark Canniford, North Somerset Council’s Executive Member for Spatial Planning, Placemaking and Economy, said: “We’re thrilled to bring this fantastic opportunity to North Somerset businesses. By leveraging the Tech for Growth programme, our local enterprises can not only enhance their operations but also expand their reach and impact. This funding is a significant step towards ensuring our businesses remain competitive and resilient in today’s fast-paced digital world.”
To be eligible for support businesses must be based in the North Somerset region, have fewer than 250 employees, a minimum £100,000 turnover, employ three full time staff and have ambition to grow and create more jobs.
