Guide to listing a toolkit on your ATA Carnet general list
How to list a toolkit on your ATA Carnet
Listing a toolkit can cause some confusion for first-time Carnet applicants. This is because the rules differ for toolkits depending on how much they are worth.
REMEMBER: toolkits must only be comprised of non-electrical hand tools. All electrical tools must be listed on separate lines on your list.
If your toolkit costs £150 or less:
You do not need to specify the number of pieces in the list, but you do need to specify the weight. The toolkit listing should look like this:

If your toolkit costs more than £150:
You need to specify both the weight of the toolkit and the number of pieces within it. The toolkit listing should therefore look like this:

You can either list the weight of each toolkit in the Weight column of each line, or list the total weight (the sum of all item weights) in the ‘totals’ field within the ATA Carnet application on eCert.
