UK businesses can now benefit from enhanced access to the Mexican market following entry to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) between the UK and Mexico on 22nd June 2026.

The agreement is expected to provide opportunities through lower tariffs, smoother digital trade processes and improved market access. Mexico becomes the latest CPTPP member country to complete ratification with the UK, while Canada is yet to finalise the process.

Discussions on a complementary UK-Mexico trade agreement are also expected to resume later in 2026.
