About Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
MHFA is an internationally recognised training programme designed to teach you how to spot the signs of mental ill-health and provide initial support. The course provides you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to start important conversations about mental health and promote positive wellbeing.
What will you receive:
- A Mental Health First Aider certificate upon completion of the course
- Comprehensive course materials that includes a workbook, and a digital manual.
What Will You Learn?
The two-day course comprises four engaging sessions delivered through presentations, quizzes, group work, videos, case studies, reflective activities and conversation practice. Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Learn how to provide support, even in a crisis, and potentially prevent crises from escalating
- Identify the early signs of mental ill-health and develop the skills to approach, and
- Help individuals access the support they need, whether through self-help resources, professional services, support groups, or other pathways to recovery

Who is the Trainer?
Lisa Upton is a qualified Mental Health England instructor with over 20 years experience within wellbeing for organisations including HSBC. Lisa brings a compassionate and engagement approach to this sensitive subject.
