The Numbers Are In: Our 2025–26 Services Impact Report Is Here
The South West is home to businesses doing remarkable things, and this year's Services Impact Report captures what that really looks like, and our role in making it happen.
Bristol & Bath, UK, Green Shield Group has partnered with The Partnership Trust to deliver three new solar projects across schools in the Bristol and Bath area, helping them cut energy costs and move closer to net zero.

The programme now spans two completed installations, with a third at Chew Magna Primary School due for completion soon.
At The Mendip School, a 30kWp solar PV system has been installed, providing an estimated 76.9% self-consumption rate. The system is projected to save the school more than £7,000 in its first year while generating clean electricity directly for on-site use.
Meanwhile, Weston All Saints Primary School has benefited from a 40.95kWp installation, expected to generate over 41,000 kWh of renewable energy each year. That’s the equivalent of powering around 14 homes annually, saving the school more than £9,000 in energy costs and significantly cutting its carbon footprint.
Together, these projects represent a major step forward in the Trust’s sustainability journey, reducing emissions, lowering operational costs, and supporting environmental education for pupils across the region.
“It’s inspiring to see schools take the lead in the transition to clean energy,” said James Vincent, Green Shield Group. “These installations don’t just reduce costs, they show pupils that sustainability is something tangible and achievable. We’re proud to support The Partnership Trust’s proactive approach and long-term vision.”
A representative from The Partnership Trust added: “Our schools are committed to operating responsibly and teaching pupils about environmental stewardship. Partnering with Green Shield Group allows us to put those values into practice, creating lasting benefits for both our community and the planet.”
The next phase of the project will see solar panels installed at Chew Magna, extending the benefits of renewable power to more students and staff across the Trust’s network.

Earlier this year, as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) research into Clean Energy business needs, I spoke with David Welham, Site Manager at A Healthier Earth’s new biochar facility, and Jenny Hughes, Head of Carbon Removal.
On 1 June 2026, Digital ATA Carnets officially launched across the UK, European Union, Switzerland and Norway, marking a significant milestone for international trade. As Head of International Trade Services at Business West, I was keen to experience the process first-hand. So, when I travelled from Bristol to Paris hand-carrying professional equipment for a presentation at the International Chamber of Commerce, I used a Digital Carnet for the entire journey (the first in the UK).
