ATA Carnets
Digital Carnet Update
Digital Carnets have been in development for some time, and we’re now fast approaching full implementation - exciting news for the world of temporary exports! With the introduction of eATA Carnets, the process is set to become more efficient and user-friendly.
Imagine simply scanning a QR code on your phone to declare your equipment when crossing a border, rather than presenting your paper ATA Carnet - no more paperwork, no more hassle.
As we move closer to the projected go-live in Q2 2026, more UK ports are coming online, with staff being trained to process digital eATA Carnets. Currently, the following locations in the UK are ready to handle Digital Carnets:
- Heathrow Airport
- Edinburgh Airport
- Dover (Sevington IBF – advance notice of arrival required)
- Holyhead
And there’s more to come! Felixstowe, Harwich Port, Southampton Port, and Portsmouth Port are all set to go live soon.
Want to get ahead of the curve? If you’re planning an upcoming trip, now is the perfect time to start testing eATA Carnets. Contact our Carnet team today for more information and support.
