Our International Trade team took to the skies in the Business West hot air balloon to celebrate the transition to digital ATA Carnets - an important milestone for temporary export.
Digital ATA Carnets are now live across the UK, EU, Norway and Switzerland, making it easier for businesses to temporarily move professional equipment, exhibition goods and commercial samples using an app and QR codes.
The remaining countries in the ATA Carnet system are expected to complete their transition by 31st December 2027, bringing us closer to a fully digital global Carnet network.

One month after digital ATA Carnets were introduced across the UK, EU, Switzerland and Norway, businesses are beginning to share their first experiences of the new system. The new digital system, which sits alongside traditional paper Carnets during a transition period, allows businesses to manage and present their carnet electronically through an app.
