Business West delivered the first Workforce for the Future workshop - Inspiring thinking: the benefits of employing young people on 8th December 2020. This workshop highlighted how employing a young person in a business can bring new ideas and fresh thinking as well as providing an opportunity to start their career. 

During the workshop we heard first-hand experience from Emma Cox, Thatcher's Cider, Sally Melvin, Chief Executive of Charity - Ablaze who support businesses to mentor young people and Alex Richards, Operations Director of the Western Training Provider Network who has worked with young people across traineeships and apprenticeships for many years. Our Head of Skills, Nicky Williams also explained the benefits of government employment initiatives from the new Kickstart programme to T-Levels which will help you to provide employment opportunities for young people.
