January 2018 saw the launch of Lacuna Productions, a Bristol based video production agency that produces a broad range of content, from animation and drone footage, to photography, voiceover and 360 video.
Set up by Edward Lawrence and his business partner Jake Ponting, experienced in business and videography respectively, with a desire from both to be their own boss, Lacuna Productions prides itself on producing content that can provide real value to companies and individuals.
“We’ve worked with a wide range of clients”, explains Edward, “from FMCG to watchmakers and recruitment agencies and not just based in Bristol. We have worked with companies and individuals across the world and our experienced team can help create a variety of quality content to help emphasise your brand.”
Early on in their business’s journey, Edward and Jake heard about Business West’s Start & Grow programme through their shared office, Launch Space, based at UWE. With an ambitious mindset and plans to grow the company with new full time staff and fresh innovative products in the next two years, business support is bound to come in handy.
Edward commented, “First impressions is that the Start & Grow programme could be a really valuable resource to us as a young company. I hope it will provide a good platform to network, as well as business advice and support. We want to increase our revenue, produce a new product, employ a full time videographer/editor and expand to include an office in London in the next couple of years. It’s going to be a busy time but we’re hoping with support from Business West we can achieve our goals.”
The Start & Grow programme can help your business in a number of ways, including one-to-one business advice, small business focused workshops and pointing you to appropriate funding in the region. Want to find out more? Contact Jane Purdy, Business Adviser on jane.purdy@businesswest.co.uk.
We will be catching up with Edward and Jake in 6 months to see how the programme has helped them grow their business.
