Hilary has 12 years of practical experience in the international trade sector and has held various roles, ranging from international trade documentation specialist to documentation and development executive, and is currently working as compliance manager of Business West's international trade team.

Hilary holds professional certifications in export documentation including; Certificates of Origin, ATA Carnets and Customs Procedures. Her work includes producing and delivering bespoke international trade training, acting as Chamber-lead on two International Chambers of Commerce trade procedure pilots, and she is a regular guest panel member on sector-specific webinars, including the Department for Business and Trade.

Neil is the Managing Director of Brightfinch, a Customs Consultancy based in Felixstowe and Manchester in the UK. With over 40 years in the industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience, dedicated to simplifying his customers’ trade processes. 

Brightfinch helps businesses to navigate the complexities of customs compliance with a practical, hands-on approach. Their process is designed to reduce compliance risk, improve cashflow and reduce duty liability wherever possible. The team have experience from a variety of backgrounds, including former customs officers, compliance managers and operational directors. 

Jane McKay, Founder Partner and COO, Astute Ideas - partner food and drink trade consultant

 

Innovative and approachable, Jane brings over 10 years of experience growing a B Corp-certified Consumer Package Goods (CPG) brand in the food and beverage sector in the US to the UK shores. 

With a degree in Food Marketing, her journey took her through technical sales for small businesses to delivering larger-scale system implementations for organisations such as British Telecom.

In 2011, she spent some time living in the US, where she became founder partner and COO at the Zen of Slow Cooking. Having cut her teeth in this fast-moving CPG environment, Jane is realising her next chapter, crystallising her expertise to help food and drink brands expand to the US, and solve their strategic and operational challenges in market.
