As a business owner, you’re likely to be on the lookout for simple ways to save money this January, whether that’s lowering the lunch bill or the electricity tariff in the office.

Open to all, the apps and services below are neat ways for employees and business owners to save pennies. So, if there’s an upcoming team outing or you’re looking to make your money go further, you can find the answer right from your phone.

1. Honey

Honey is actually not an app, but a browser extension used on Google Chrome, which will automatically find and apply discounts codes for you at the point of check out. The best parts? Honey doesn’t take additional time to use and it’s free!

The proof is in the pudding – Honey now has over 10 million members. The discounts you can find include large brands which is handy when it’s time to top up the office supplies and includes sites such as Amazon, Target and Best Buy.

2. Yroo

This price comparison app actually keeps an eye on prices in the background. When prices drop, you will receive an alert that it’s a good time to buy. Yroo can search more than five thousand retailers, giving you the most competitive price on products. This is particularly handy for items such as office furniture.

The scanning functionality of the app also allows you to check price comparisons on the move, so you always know if you’re getting the best deal. As a business owner, this really is an app worth checking out!

3. LoyalFree

If you’re a fan of shopping local, you may be looking for something which is more personal to your local area. The LoyalFree app, available in 16 towns and cities in England, can help you find just this. With thousands of deals it helps you ‘save money when you shop local’ at both national and independent brands.

You can save some money on the next after-work drinks spot, or when stocking up on business supplies. What’s rather handy is the fact the app also showcases many ‘services’ as well as stores – meaning savings are available at local accountants and so forth as well as your favourite cafés.

Another perk is that when new team members join your business, they may not know the local area – but the LoyalFree app can help here too. The app showcases the local surroundings through interactive trails such as a ‘Vegan Eats’ or ‘After Work Cocktails’ trail which are great for newbies to the area.

4. Vouchercodes

With so many discount apps available it can be hard to decide between Groupon, Wowcher and the other endless options available. My personal favourite is VoucherCodes as it has a great variety of options for deals – even including travel deals. This could be particularly handy if wanting to reward employees.

5. uSwitch

This app compares energy, broadband and mobile deals so you know if your business is benefiting from the best tariff on the market. If not, you can switch tariffs through the app within a matter of minutes.

A yearly reminder on your tariffs also ensures you never miss out on the best deal by forgetting to switch. The uSwitch app boasts top reviews and is a Feefo 2018 Gold Trusted Service winner.

Whilst it can feel that checking an App is adding extra work, these are all easy to use and can really pay off with some amazing savings. Whichever you decide to use, we are sure you will see cost benefits for your business.
