LSIP Clean Energy Skills Report released

Business West has released a new Clean Energy Skills Report as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs).

Clean energy is a priority growth sector for the West of England & North Somerset, Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire, and Somerset, and is central to each area’s net zero and climate emergency commitments.

The report provides a summary of:

  • The clean energy landscape across the four LSIP areas
  • Business insights into skills needs and challenges
  • Recommend next steps and changes to better support the clean energy sector

The research in this report underlines that clean energy has the potential to become one of the region’s most significant growth sources over the next decade. However, employers have been clear that skills gaps and workforce shortages are significant hurdles in the path of progress. We're committed to working with key partners to tackle these shortages and unlock the sector's potential. If you’re working on this too or see an opportunity to join-up on some of the recommended next steps, get in touch so we can arrange a chat.
